How this site is built
A Wimmer Labs build, written alongside Claude Code. The whole thing is open source.
The stack
- Astro 7 builds every page ahead of time into plain HTML and CSS.
- Cloudflare Workers serves it from Cloudflare's global network.
- GitHub holds the code atwimmerlabs/andrewwimmer.com. Every push deploys automatically.
- Claude Code wrote most of it with me, and each commit credits it.
Privacy by default
- No analytics, no trackers, no cookies.
- No JavaScript runs in your browser. GitHub lists some JavaScript and TypeScript in the repo: those are the build tools that generate the pages, and they never reach you.
- Fonts (Geist and Geist Mono) are served from this site, not from a third party.
- Book covers come from Open Library, downloaded once and served from this site, so your browser never contacts Google, Amazon or anyone else.
- Photos are stripped of hidden location and camera data before they go up.
- A strict Content Security Policy blocks the page from loading anything from anywhere else.
Readable by agents
Everything here is published for AI assistants too: a plain-text guide at /llms.txt, structured data at /career.json and/books.json, and soon an MCP server at /mcp so your assistant can ask questions straight from the source.
Design
Dark, quiet, and built around cards. Type is set in Geist, with Geist Mono for labels. The library is inspired by Maggie Appleton's library and antilibrary pages.
